I would nominate my dear friend Cheryl. Cheryl is a classic type A personality. She’s a single woman, mother of one and a young grandma to two. She works for a major corporation and her job takes her out of the country about 50% of the time. When home she is busy in her community as well as spending time with her grandchildren.
Until recently, that is. About three weeks ago she developed dangerously high blood pressure and had to take a leave from work and have a number of tests and medications adjustments done. She is still in the process of doing that when two days ago her eye became swollen shut and she could not see. She now has a tumor, and the doctors aren’t sure if she will regain her sight in that eye.
She said to me “what is a type A personality like me to do when I can’t do anything”? I’d love to see her win this bag – the Mariella Satchel in Olive – just to try to help brighten her spirits as we wait, wonder and watch what will happen with Cheryl’s physical needs. The reason Cheryl needs a new bag is that she is always doing for others, putting herself last. She tends to her work commitments and to her family but never buys anything for herself. Shopping is always about the kids for Cheryl.
Thank you!
This is a lovely idea. I would nominate my mother Tonya, she has always put the needs of her children before her own. I try to buy her at least one pair of shoes a month, just so she can have a little something of her own, without worrying about others. As of right now, she just concluded radiation and is now undergoing chemotherapy for rectal cancer, so fashion may be the least of her immediate concerns. However, I want her to feel good and look beautiful, and nothing does that better than looking your absolute best. She endured quite a bit – major invasive surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Besides, when the chemo is finished and she’s back to tip-top shape, she has to have a gorgeous handbag to compliment those lovely shoes!
It is difficult to select anything for my mother because she is very picky, she has a fear of dressing too young. With that in mind, I choose the Camila Bag (tan) – it’s classic and yet modern at the same time, without being too hip or trendy, something my mother definitely shies away from. I think she would greatly appreciate the utilitarian aspect of the bag, since it would be useful enough to hold all her important documents. My mother knows how much I love to enter contests such as this. It would be fabulous to win something on her behalf – it might not be much, but it’s from the heart.
I would nominate my lovely sister. She is such an inspiration to all who know her. She has been having a really hard time since she has been laid off but instead of sitting around waiting for something to happen she has done something about it. Never really great with the internet or computers she started a web store. She researched and learned everything she could before starting and now is doing quite well. Although it helps with the regular bills and treating her 6 year old daughter she seldom has enough to treat herself. A new bag would be the lift she needed. She loves over the shoulder or cross body bags so I think she would love the Leandra in dark brown. This is a wonderful giveaway.
I nominate my girl Shannon Scott. I met her on Twitter and she is one of the sweetest people ever. She’s had a hard time of things lately. She’s had a loss in her family amongst other things. Right now she’s working two jobs that she is miserable at because her colleagues are jerks. I think a pretty bag like the Jackie bag would really lift her spirits.
I should probably nominate my mother or mother-in-law. They are deserving women, but I instantly thought of my sister’s mother-in-law. The woman carries around a 70′s purse by the remaining strap. She is so nice she sends my child, husband and I things for our birthdays, too, even though we aren’t technically related! She is a beautiful woman despite the fact that she wears her husband’s cast away clothes. She never. NEVER buys anything for herself. I’d like to win her a nice handbag, just because I know she’d be so surprised that I someone gives a crap about her. I think she’d love the Leandra in black!

I would nominate my boyfriend’s mom to win a new bag. She deserves to win because she raised her two sons and was at a point in her life where she should be able to kick back and enjoy the finer things, that is until her youngest son had a daughter that she ends up taking care of on a daily basis. She has her 6-7 days a week for homework time, mealtime, and bath time. She loves taking her to church with her and spends a lot of her time and also her money on her. Recently her car got totaled while on vacation and they had no insurance so it cost a lot of money to rebuild. I’d love to win for her the Camila Bag in Tan because it’s a nice looking bag and fits her personality perfectly. She deserves something nice every now and then and she’d love this.
I nominate my mom. She needs a new handbag because she’s going in for major surgery for a hysterectomy and she’s scared. I know a handbag doesn’t necessarily make fear go away for a major surgery but I think it would be a wonderful surprise for her. The bag I think she’d most like is the Casey Hobo in Mauve Pink. She loves pinks and purples so when I saw it on the site, I knew it was perfect. Thanks for the opportunity.

I would nominate my mom. While we are getting by, we don’t often indulge in any kind of extras. Even though dad is out of work, mom always manages to bring some kind of gifts or treats for us and her grandchildren when she visits. She is always thinking of us above herself. The hand bag she is currently carrying, she found on sale for $12. It does it’s job, but it definitely isn’t what she deserves. I would love to be the one surprising her with a treat for once. I would choose the Eileen Bag in Olive Green for her. I know she would love it, but would never spend that much on herself.
First, I love your kittens! I would nominate my friend Dina. Dina is a wonderful person who has the weight of the world on her shoulders. She has a mom with MS, a sister with a mental illness and Dina has colitis. She is a wonderful person, but currently hasn’t been able to leave her house very often due to her illness and has become depressed I would love to give her a handbag to cheer her up. The Jackie bag or any bag would be wonderful.
Thank you
I nominate my good friend Misty. Due to budget cuts at the library we work at, Misty was laid off for 9 months. She had to cut out all extras and live on a strict budget. She was lucky enough to get another position at the library just this month when someone else left, but she is wokring less hours than her previous position. She deserves to have a great handbag. She loves bags, but never treats herself to one. The bag she is using now is one she found on clearance years ago. I would love to win a new handbag for her. I would choose the Camille Ruffle Satchel in Deep Violet for her. She is a huge fan of purple and ruffles are all the rage right now. I think it would be perfect for her!
I nominate my mother. She seriously need a new purse. And so do I by the way. Any of your bags would be fabulous! follow as @wins4me
I nominate my neighbor Jennie. She’s the best friend anyone could ask for but their money is extremely tight and her purse is falling apart. She has three kids ages, 6, 3, and 8 months and one that passed away 2 years ago in September. Her purse is falling apart and she really needs one for day to day use. She has started using the diaper bag as a purse just so she has something with shoulder straps. I think she would like the Caitlin Bag in Cognac because it wouldn’t show much dirt and would hold all of her necessities. It would look very stylish and I know she would love it!
I tweeted also! http://twitter.com/sethandshannon1/status/26222527065 @sethandshannon1
I am nominated my sister-in-law Tammy. She has four children that range from 9-18. She is active in the PTA and in the community. She teaches piano lessons and works hard everyday whether it be driving the carpool, teaching, cleaning, school meeting, community events or supporting her husband who is a pastor. She is busy, busy, busy, and she always has a smile on her face, and something positive to say about everyone. She is sincerely, specials and it is such a job to be related!
Tammy needs a new handbag because she rarely gets to shop for herself. She is always busy with the needs of her family and if she’s shopping she’s most likely buying something for one of her kids. She is selfless and puts her family first because she loves them and wants the best for them.
I would choose the Blanca Bag in black for her. I think it would be stylish and that it have plenty of room for everything she needs to carry with her. Thank you so much for this opportunity and for considering Tammy.
I would like to nominate my best friend Debbie P. She is the most generous person I know. She will give to anyone, but rarely will take the time to let anyone be generous to her. She will take care of strangers, if sick, will cook you meals, clean your house, sit your dogs or kids, whatever she can do to help. Her husband is unemployed for 2 years, and she is disabled, but it never ceases to amaze me how much she immerses herself in everyone else’s troubles and expects nothing in return. I would love for her to win this giveaway as an anonymous thank you for all her selfless acts.
huge p.s.
I would like to give the Antonia Ruffle bag to Debbie P. She loves anything with ruffles and this bag would be perfect.
Who: My mom!
Why: She is selfless, giving, always puts others before herself, and I cannot remember the last time she got something new!
Which Bag: Camila Bag–it fits her style perfectly!
I nominate my friend Dina. She has had a lot of tough times lately. She cannot work because she has a tremendous amount of health problems. Her mom has MS and was just in the hospital yet again for 3 1/2 weeks dealing with pnemonia. She has 4 cats and 2 out of the 4 are very, very sick. She has thousands in vet bills as well as thousands of medical bills for herself. Only her husband works and it is a temporary job. I think the Juliana Satchel in grey would perk up her spirits! She would really love it and be super surprised!
I wold nominate my mom! She loves (LOOOVES) handbags.. it’s her obsession! I would love to give her something she enjoys that much! She truly deserves it! SHe’s stylish, but she rarely shops for herself, she’s always putting everyone before her! I know she hasn’t shop in at least 8 months and this would be the perfect gift!
I would love to give her this bag (http://www.mimiboutique.com/python-hermes-birken-inspired-black-satchel.html) because it’s timeless and chic… just like her!
Great giveaway!
I would nominate my mother. She is truly the most humble, selfless, giving person I know. She never buys herself anything. In fact, she uses any extra money to buy her daughters or grandkids presents. The only time she gets something new for herself is when she receives them as a gift from someone. My sisters and I all live in different areas and my mother travels to each of our homes to help us with whatever we need whether it is cooking, babysitting our kids, giving us a massage or just a well-needed break.
I would really like to give her a purse to let her know how much I appreciate her for being such a wonderful mom. The bag I would choose for her is the “Alyssa Black Flower Satchel ” because it is pretty and roomy enough to carry all her essentials.
I would choose my mama.
She is a sweet wonderful lady raising my youngest sister(by twenty years)on her own after being widowed when my sister was a year old.
That was over fifteen years ago.
She works as a janitor and she works hard. When she had a 5 month flare up of shingles she still had to work and clean toilets when the whisper of fabric on her back almsot made her pass out.. but that is just how she is. When my son had heart surgery she was with us, doing all the little things I couldn’t concentrate on and kept us running smoothly
so that chores and meals didn’t pull us way from him. She is such a classy lady! There just isn’t extra money for things like new handbags, especially not really cute ones! I know she would like nice things though, we were in T Maxx once and there was a pair of shoes she noticed , and I saw her glance back several times, but she was there to get school clothes for my sister..so nothing for her.
When she does carry a bag, it is usually a reusable grocery bag, or she just puts her wallet and keys in a pocket.
I would dearly love to be able to surprise her with a gift like the Tazia Bag in Dark Olive. My husband was laid off last year so I don’t have the wherewithall to give her stuff either, (except my undying love and respect!) So I spent about 30 minutes browsing at the Mimi boutique and the minute I saw the Tazia bag ..well I came right back over to nominate my mom!!
I would give this bag to my beautiful cousin! (the Hillary studded bag in any color) She deserves it more than anyone because she just graduated from college. and it would be the perfect gift to show her that all the hard work will pay off.
I nominate my friend Jackie. She is selfless and most deserving of someone to give HER something for a change.
She has four daughters, two of whom have enormous challenges, both mental and physical. It is a very physical effort to care for those two girls. Her other two daughters are healthy, but as all kids do, they pose challenges as well. However, because resources are not abundant in the family, the two daughters who can work several jobs each to cover their own expenses.
Jackie’s husband has been out of work a couple of times in the last two years, though he is working now. His schedule is often such that Jackie is in charge of the household from the time she gets up until the time she goes to bed. I become exhausted thinking about all she has to do.
Many of us would be overwhelmed by this life, but Jackie is very active in her church and I know her through her volunteer efforts with our local Women’s Club. She is always the first to sign up to make cookies, be at a booth to support the local fire fighters, donate coats for kids without and the list goes on.
It is amazing how giving she is to others when it feels like we should all be giving to her. She is really remarkable and I would love to see her receive the gift of the Nicole Satchel in Bronze. She would be absolutely delighted-and no one deserves it more.
I would choose my mom. My mom is just not stylish and just never spends any money on herself. I think the Sebastiana Tote would be great for her.
To tell the truth, if my mother was alive today, I would without a moment’s thought nominate her..but I lost her 15 years ago(vow, time flies) this month. Right now, I would like to nominate my friend Purvi for a handbag make over. She has been out of work since last 2 years and having a real tough time in her marriage life also because of that. Her husband is studying for some exams since last year but has not been able to clear through. She is having tough time making the ends meet. She would so much appreciate this bag, I can’t tell you enough. Handbag make over at this time, may just help her boost her confidence in the interview and get a job finally.
I would choose Natalia Grey Hobo.
I would nominate my mother. Her and my father both were recently laid off of work due to the economy. She is an amazing women who takes in foster children. She has been a mother to over 15 children, who didn’t have a mother of their own. Her and my father could not celebrate their anniversary this year because all the money they have goes towards their children. She had me and my sister and then she adopted my two little brothers. I would love to be able to give her this gift because she really deserves it.
I would like to nominate my mother, Ginny. She has been the support of my life. Growing up it was only the two of us and she made sure I felt loved and important always. My mother rocks!
She desperately needs a new purse. She refuses to spend much on herself and she needs a larger, quality purse. I would choose the Paula Padlock Satchel in Brown.
Thank you!
